Free Canon LUT (Log 3 → 709)

This is the LUT I use on my Canon footage. It's Canon's own, and it's free. Canon doesn't let me share the file myself, so here's exactly where to grab it.

Open Canon's download page ↗
  1. On Canon's EOS R5 support page, go to Software & Drivers and pick your computer (Mac or Windows) and its version.
  2. Download Canon lookup table, the newest one (right now it's ver.202510, about 77 MB).
  3. Unzip it and open the 3D LUT files: the 65-grid, full-to-full range set.
  4. Grab the file that starts with CinemaGamut_CanonLog3-to-BT709_WideDR_65_FF
  5. In Premiere: put an Adjustment Layer over your C-Log 3 clips, then Lumetri Color → Creative → Look → Browse…, pick the .cube and leave Intensity at 100. That's exactly how I do it. Rather go clip by clip? Use Basic Correction → Input LUT.

Good to know

  • Different Canon camera? It's the same pack. Find your camera's page on usa.canon.com → Software & Drivers. Outside the US, your country's Canon support site has it too.
  • If your camera's Canon Log color space is set to BT.709 instead of Cinema Gamut, use the file that starts with BT709_CanonLog3-to-BT709_WideDR_65_FF from the same set.
  • Footage already looks normal (not flat) in Premiere? Newer Premiere can convert log on its own. Turn off its automatic log detection in your project's color settings so the look doesn't get doubled.

Heads up: this is Canon's free file, not mine. I don't host it, sell it or make anything from it. I'm just pointing you to the source.
